Eat our Rosemary with a good, old-fashioned homemade pizza. Once you've covered a pizza base with passata and torn mozzarella, most would add basil. But rosemary, with its light resin notes and slight acidity, puts a subtle new spin on a classic dish. Just add some olive oil and grill.

Why not try giving scones something a bit different. A tablespoon or so of rosemary is enough to transform a simple scone mix on its own. But its woody, piney taste also works well in a trio of flavours, for countless savoury combinations. We recommend putting it with cheddar and black pepper. Or lots of experimentation.

The rosemary plant is tough and a bit of a rebel. It's native to the Mediterranean, but it can survive both cooler and warmer climates. Its pink, purple, blue or white flowers usually bloom in spring or summer, but can bloom in wildly different times, like December or February.

Throughout history, rosemary has been a symbol of remembrance. Its place as a staple of British kitchen cupboards probably started with the Romans.
