Cole & Mason Ground Cinnamon
Eat our Ground Cinnamon with a French-toast brunch. Thick slabs of chestnut-brown French toast, with ground cinnamon and brown sugar melting into the butter. Top with fresh summer fruits and straight-from-the-fridge Greek yoghurt.
Why not try freshening up a summer drink. Drop a little ground cinnamon into a refreshing apple cider (or ginger beer for an alcohol-free alternative). Or use it to deepen the flavour of a banana milkshake. Toss a handful of bananas into a blender along with milk, ice cubes and a dash of cinnamon.
Cinnamon typically comes from Madagascar, Indonesia, China and Sri Lanka. It’s taken from the inner bark of an evergreen laurel tree native to Sri Lanka.
Use of cinnamon dates back to ancient times, where it was highly prized – a gift fit for royalty. Emperor Nero is said to have burned a year's worth of the city's supply on his wife's funeral pyre as an act of atonement.
