Eat our Coriander Seeds with an apple and grape chutney. Toast cumin and coriander seeds in a pan, crush together and add to an apple and grape chutney mix. The sweetness of the fruit is complemented by the citrusy notes of coriander.

Why not try adding to oven fries. Toss the fries in olive oil, thyme and coriander seeds, then cook in the oven for more fragrant fries. Or spice up an onion bhaji. Grind coriander seeds with cumin, cardamom and mustard seeds, dried chillies and salt. Use as the spice base for a bhaji mix with some heat.

Coriander seeds are actually a fruit. They’re made up of two separate seeds in a crisp coating.

The seeds have been used in different ways for thousands of years: by Romans, by ancient Arabs and by 18th century French chefs. They even received a stamp of royal approval, being found in among the gold and jewels in Tutankhamun's tomb.
